Foundation for Social Improvement Drug-Free Alliance The very first initiative of the Foundation for Social Improvement is the Drug-Free Alliance. The Foundation recognizes that drugs are a major problem in society, and in order to bring about lasting change for us all, we must help those who are addicted to drugs to become rehabilitated and we must prevent our nation's children from using them. The Drug-Free Alliance is also aimed at education all people about all types of drugs. This includes street drugs as well as pharmaceuticals. After all, the fastest rising category of substance abuse is prescription drugs. In addition, there are millions of people being prescribed drugs that can carry serious and damaging side effects and they're not even aware of it. When searching for solutions we must ask ourselves if we as individuals and as a nation are able to look beyond bias and tradition to find and use what actually works. Results speak for themselves. They are true to the degree they are demonstrable and observable, not hypothesized. The Foundation supports programs that are innovative and successful when dealing with substance abuse and not those that promote using more drugs. |
